History of Cartier
In 1856, the niece of Napoleon I and the cousin of Napoleon III, Princess Mathilde, placed the first order in Cartier.
In 1859, Cartier was moved to No. 9 on the Italian Avenue, Napoleon III’s wife, Queen Eugene, became a regular customer of Cartier.
In 1874, the son of Louis-François Cartier, Yafa Cartier, inherited the company.
In 1899, Cartier was moved to 13 Peace Street in Paris. Later, the three brothers of the Cartier family — Louis, Peel and Gis inherited the family business.
In 1902, Cartier opened new stores from Paris to London and New York, and New York gradually became the headquarters of the Kingdom of Cartier.
